Shaping

In the video on this page, Professor BF Skinner uses successive approximations or shaping to train a pigeon to turn one way and then the opposite way. You can use shaping on yourself to create Power habits. Just do a tiny approximation of the habit you ultimately want to establish. For example, if you want to do push ups, the first approximation might be to just get into position on a yoga mat! Then next time, do one push up, the next day two, and so on.
